WILD-INSPIRED RECIPES

For your Apex couch predator.

They may have found their way into our homes and our hearts, but deep down, cats are still wild at heart.

They're obligate carnivores, which is a fancy way to say "they need meat."

Our meat-forward recipes are made with different protein sources that speak to your cat's wild nature. A limited selection of veggies and fiber mimic their natural prey—feathers, bones, gristle, stomach contents, and all.

Made in the USA

Our quality control goes the extra mile, then circles back for a victory lap.

We inspect ingredients upon delivery, continuously monitor our production facility, and submit samples from every batch for third-party verification on safety and nutritional quality. Your cat's food only ships after passing every test with flying colors.

Because when you're as obsessed with cat health as we are, anything less would feel wrong.

From our expert. For your cat.

Our in-house animal science and pet nutrition specialists eat, sleep, and breathe feline dietary health.

  • How should I transition my cat to your food?

A slow and steady transition is key for picky kitties and avoiding an upset tummy. Please refer to our easy-to-follow guide here and don't hesitate to email us at purr@tuftandpaw.mom if you have any questions or concerns.

  • How much should I feed my cat?

Every cat is unique, so each one will have different calorie requirements depending on their age and lifestyle.

For adult cats, we recommend 1 carton for every 5-8 pounds, but it's crucial to play diet detective.

Monitor your cat's weight, adjusting if they're gaining or losing. If dry food or treats are in the mix, tweak portions accordingly. Remember, treats should be under 10% of their daily calorie intake. It's a bit like customizing a meal plan for your cat's lifestyle—watch, adjust, and enjoy their happy, healthy journey.

  • What's your process for quality control?

We follow strict quality control practices right from sourcing the ingredients to the final production.

All the ingredients we use meet high quality standards, and we inspect them thoroughly upon arrival at our facilities.

Our manufacturing unit undergoes regular inspections by food safety organizations.

During the production process, we carry out both visual and mechanical checks to ensure quality.

Our finished product is routinely sent to a third-party lab for independent testing of nutritional guarantees, harmful bacteria, mycotoxins, and heavy metals.

  • Where do your ingredients come from?

We choose locally sourced ingredients from within the US when possible, however some ingredients have been imported from around the globe to ensure that despite seasonal variation within North America, we are still able to use some of the best quality ingredients.

  • How should I store Really Great Cat Food?

Keep unused portions refrigerated, using them within 5 days of opening. Store unopened cartons in a cool, dry place.

  • Where is Really Great Cat Food manufactured?

Our Canadian roots run deep, with headquarters in Vancouver, British Columbia. However, Really Great Cat Food's magic happens in Wisconsin, USA, at our manufacturing facility. We blend local and imported ingredients, ensuring a premium recipe for your cat.

  • If cats are carnivores, why use plant products in your recipe?

Great question! While cats are true carnivores, they still need fiber for a healthy digestive system.

In the wild, they'd get it from prey's bones and fur. To mimic this, we use plant sources like pumpkin and dandelion greens. It not only keeps things moving but also packs in vital vitamins and minerals for your wild-at-heart feline.

  • Who's behind the recipe, and what makes them qualified?

Our team of experts in animal science and pet nutrition worked together to create these recipes.

Our in-house companion animal nutritionist is armed with an MSc in Animal Nutrition (specializing in companion animal nutrition) and a BSc in Animal Biology. Joining forces is our external formulator, boasting a PhD in Animal Nutrition. Together, they fine-tuned our formulas to ensure they meet the unique nutritional needs and metabolic quirks of cats.

You can trust that your cat is in the hands of capable and caring professionals.

  • Is wet food safe for all cats?

Our nutritionists have developed three recipes that are safe for most cats. If your cat has allergies or pre-existing conditions, please consult your vet first. If you are uncertain, or have any questions about our ingredients or manufacturing please do not hesitate to reach us at purr@tuftandpaw.mom

Did you change the recipe? One of my cats don't like it much but liked the first kind. Maybe it was chicken and...?

    Cats like it...

Cats like it , but only mixed with equal amount of another brand (Sheba), which is fine because the expensive food ( T&P) gets stretched longer.

The only problem is a human one, I really cannot stand your packaging...

    He likes it!

My boy loved it (chicken and rabbit stew) from the jump. Didn’t even need to gradually add it. My only problem is with the opening of the carton, well the reopening on the second day. A little messy, but overall he’s satisfied, so I’m satisfied!

    Food

The stuff you sent me wasn’t like the stuff I bought before which was completely raw. This was stew for some reason I must’ve hit the wrong link, but my cats hate all three flavor flavors.

    Fussy Cat

I was very hopeful that my fussy cat would enjoy this but she takes a lick and walks away, disinterested,

This is why I don’t like to order food from any service. This was expensive and now it will be donated to a local shelter.
